The journey of art began in 2001, when Theatre Arts, Chandigarh was founded by the visionary director Shri Rajiv Mehta with the blessings of Late Shri Kamlesh Chander Mehta. What started as a humble dream has today grown into one of North India’s most distinguished theatre institutions. For over two decades, the group has dedicated itself to the timeless art of storytelling bringing history, devotion, and culture alive on stage with extraordinary passion and creativity. Under the visionary leadership of its founder-director and his dedicated ensemble of gifted artists, the group has earned global recognition and has become a proud cultural ambassador of India’s rich heritage.
Through Historical and Devotional Light, Sight & Sound shows, we bring India’s timeless wisdom and spiritual heritage to life on a grand scale. Our Live Plays for entertainment captivate audiences with powerful stage performances, while our Nukkad (Street) Plays for public awareness tackle vital social issues, becoming a beloved tradition in the Tricity, Chandigarh, and across India. Together, these productions have travelled across the country and abroad including America, Canada, and beyond — proudly carrying India’s cultural legacy to audiences worldwide, connecting hearts with India’s culture and instilling a deep sense of pride and responsibility
