We produced this historic Grand Light & Sound Show commemorating the 550th Birth Anniversary (Prakash Purab) of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, celebrated worldwide in November 2019. Since then, it has been showcased in 50+ events globally. With a duration of 1 minute and 40 seconds, this Light, Sight & Sound show is a humble attempt to portray the complete history of the First Patshah, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The journey begins from the divine birth (Parkash) of Guru Ji in Rai Bhoi di Talwandi and unfolds through the sacred lessons of Sacha Sauda, followed by Guru Ji’s four monumental journeys (Char Udasiya) across the world. The narrative then touches upon the emotional moment of Bhai Mardana Ji’s departure from this world (Akal Chalana) and concludes with the historic bestowal of Guruship (Gurgaddi) upon Guru Angad Dev Ji. Through this show, we have made a sincere effort to present the complete history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings in a manner that is both beautiful and deeply respectful.
While creating this production, we have remained committed to honoring and upholding Sikh Rehat Maryada. In doing so, we have taken great care to ensure that Guru Sahib Ji is never physically depicted, nor is their voice or any other form of personification ever shown on screen. Instead, our focus remains entirely on recreating the circumstances and conditions of that era through the powerful medium of light and sound. This approach allows the audience to witness the world as it was during Guru Ji’s time without ever crossing the boundaries of reverence and tradition. The result is a deeply immersive experience where the Sangat becomes so captivated and absorbed in the moment that they spontaneously feel the living presence of Guru Ji with them. The beauty of this show lies not just in its visual and auditory splendor, but in its ability to create a sacred and meditative atmosphere that touches the soul of every viewer. This is a beautiful, respected, and spiritually elevating tribute to the life and legacy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
